Samarasatha Vedika to organise national summit on social equality on Sunday



Amaravati: With a view to bring communal harmony in the society, Samajika Samarasatha Vedika is a organizing a massive convention- Samarasatha Sammelan on Sunday. Union minister for social justice, C Narayana Swamy, noted seer, Kamalananda Bharatha Swami Jee, RSS national Prachara Pramukh Sunil Ambekar, former chief secretary IYR Krishna Rao, former ministers Mandali Budha Prasad, Dokka Manikyavaraprasad would take part in the key session.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Samarasatha Vedika convenor K Syam Prasad said that the convention would be held at Siddartha college auditorium. He said that Kasinadhuni Nageswara Rao panthulu, Unnava Lakshminarayana Panthulu, Ayyadevara Kaleswara Rao panthulu have organized Adi Andhra Maha Sammelan in 1917 to eradicate the untouchability on the banks of Krishna river in Vijayawada.
He said that several leaders worked to bring equality among the castes, communities and religions with the spirit of Adi Andhra Maha Sammelan in the last 105 years since the first meeting was held. “Notwithstanding the efforts of the governments, the results at the ground level were not up to the mark even after the independence. We thought it is high time to go into the villages and work for the equality among all sections of the society,” said Syam Prasad. He said that Dr Mangalagiri Ravindranath will preside over the session.
Dalit leader Bhagyareddy Varma of Hyderabad, Talluri Vishnu, Nimmaraju Chalapati Rao, Duggaraju Srinivasa Rao were also present.
