707 seats vacant after third admission round in ayurveda, homeopathy




AHMEDABAD: The Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC) on Wednesday announced that at the end of the third round of admissions in homeopathy and ayurveda courses, a total 707 seats have remained vacant. These seats include 212 BAMS seats and 494 BHMS seats. The last day to confirm admissions in the third round was January 11.
The committee statement said that in the fourth round of admissions 1,896 students have given their consent. The last date of giving consent will be January 13. The committee statement said that the detailed schedule of the fourth round will be announced later. This round is to fill stray vacancies and it will be conducted offline.
As per a committee statement at the end of second round, 825 seats had remained vacant. These seats included 185 seats of ayurveda and 640 seats of homeopathy. Apart from this, 600 new seats have been sanctioned in five ayurveda colleges and three homeopathy colleges. These new seats include 380 ayurveda and 220 homeopathy seats. During the ongoing mop up round these seats will be filled.
