​World University Rankings 2023: Check IISc Bangalore, JMI and BHU’s place in this rankings

World University Rankings have been released. Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru (Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, IISc) has made its place in this ranking. IISc Bengaluru is the only Indian institution to be ranked among the top 300 universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. In addition, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar, International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad, and Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) have found place in the top 600 universities. JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research is ranked 351-400. After this Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences has made its debut in the Times rankings this year.
Tamil Nadu’s Alagappa University and Kerala’s Mahatma Gandhi University ranked in the 401-500 ranks in the World University Rankings. Savita Institute of Technical and Medical Sciences has also made it to the top 600.
Notably, this time around, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru improved its position in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023 and was the only Indian university to be ranked in the top 300 list, even That many IITs have boycotted this ranking for the third year in a row.
13 Indian Institutes including Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Delhi Technological University (DTU), IIT Indore, IIIT Delhi, Jamia Hamdard University, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology Got a rank between 601-700. Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, IIT Patna, IIT Gandhinagar, NIT Hamipur, NIT Tiruchirappalli and Panjab University have been ranked between 801-1000.
Globally, the University of Oxford has retained the top spot in the rankings for the seventh consecutive year in 2023. This year 1,799 universities from 104 countries and territories have been ranked, up 137 from last year.
