To empower women, Army imparting ‘Computer Education to girls in Banihal



JAMMU: In continuation of its efforts for Women Empowerment, Army has started an ‘Advance Computer Diploma’ course for girl students of Banihal (J&K).
Sharing details of the initiative, PRO (Defence) Jammu Lt Col Devender Anand said, “The project has been envisaged in line with the Indian government campaign of Skill India and Digital India.”
“A total of 20 girls from Banihal have been selected for this one year course.”
Col Anand said, “The course is a wholesome package which encompasses various computer skills, basic computer knowledge to include Windows Operating System, MS Office, Internet, etc.”
“The students undergoing the said course will have a both practical and theoretical understanding of computers and their uses.”
“All successful students will be awarded with the certification of “Diploma in Advance Computing”, Col Anand added.
PRO Defence Jammu further said that the completion of this course will open opportunities for the students in the field of higher education as well in jobs.
