Sector-16 model school alumni walk down memory lane

Chandigarh: The 1971 batch of Senior Model School, sector-16, Chandigarh celebrated their 50th anniversary of graduation from the school.
Alumni have gathered from Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali, but also other parts of the country and abroad with their spouses.
They visited the school to refresh the memories of their school days . The former students met the current Principal, Bhavneet kaur. The highlight was meeting their class teacher Usha Sehgal, who took the initiative to come to school at the age of ninety to meet and reminisce of their time in school. The group also visited the High Tea tuck shop which they used to buy burgers and coke during their school years for fifty paisa.
Initially, the school was known as senior model school but later became the government senior model. It was considered one of the best schools in the country in those days. The group fondly remembers A Karam Singh, the principal at the time, to be one of the finest amongst all schools.
The alums recalled how they learned values and principles of hard work, by teachers like K. Mohan, Bhupinder Singh, because of which they were able to lead their lives personally and professionally.
The alums who attended the meet are Ashok Berry,Arun Rawal,Rajive Singh,Sunil Parti and Surinder Pal,Anju Mathur Renu Sharma, Sushma,Sharma,Sushil Tiwana, and Taranjot kaur.
They expressed their gratitude for their education to their Alma Mater and said that if their health and time-permit, they would all like to revisit the school again.
