National Symposium on “Harmonizing Land Use for Emerging Challenges and Opportunities in the Island and Coastal Region”



PUNE: A two-day National Symposium on “Harmonizing Land Use for Emerging Challenges and Opportunities in the Island and Coastal Region” was jointly organized by the Andaman Science Association (ASA), ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair and Bharatiya Kisan Sanghgot.
The chief guest, A K Singh, Deputy Director General (Horticulture Science), ICAR, New Delhi, appreciated the efforts taken by the ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair, and the association in conducting the National Symposium addressing the five most vital component of the nature (Air, Water, Fire, Earth and Space).
Suresh Kumar Chaudhari, Deputy Director General, Natural Resource Management delivered the keynote address on , “Current and emerging challenges for sustainable land use in the Island and Coastal region”.
Dr NC Gautam, Former Vice-Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya and Chairman RAC, ICAR-CIARI spoke about the vital elements and stressed on the need of imparting awareness program among the masses.
H Manoj, General Manager, Regional office NABARD ,Port Blair and Swami Sudhanand, Chinmaya Mission also spoke on the occasion.
