Desh Bhagat University organises International Anatomy Conference




Chandigarh: The first International Conference on Anatomy titled “Living Anatomy in 21st Century: An Emerging Trends in Health Sciences” organised by the department of anatomy, Desh Bhagat Dental College and Hospital, concluded at Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh on Tuesday.
The conference was attended by 300 offline delegates and over 100 delegates from UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Germany, and over 15 states from India including Jammu and Kashmir. A number of foreign delegates and South American national representatives also took part in the meeting virtually.
The two-day conference was inaugurated by Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University. Pro-Chancellor Dr Tajinder Kaur, Vice-President Dr Harsh Sadavarti, Dean Academics Dr Sunil Malhan, and Principal Dr Vikram Bali were present on the occasion.
The dignitaries included Dr Jagwinder Singh Mann, President of the Punjab Dental Council. Dr Ajit Pal Singh, the conference organizing chairman, delivered the conference theme address. Dr Tulika Gupta, Associate Professor in the Department of Anatomy, PGIMER, Chandigarh, presented the keynote address. A souvenir of the first International Conference of Anatomy.
Dr Klaus Peter Herm from Germany, Dr Tulika Gupta from PGIMER Chandigarh, Dr Hitant Vohra from DMC Ludhiana, Dr Rimpi Gupta from Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal, Dr Anjali Singal from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bathinda, Dr SP Singh from Punjabi University, Patiala, Dr Gaurav Agnihotri from Government Medical College, Amritsar, Dr Ajit Jaiswal from BJS Dental College and Research Centre Ludhiana, and Amritvir Singh Deol from Chandigarh, presented their papers.
Dr Rafiqa from PGIMER Chandigarh received the Sardar Lal Singh Memorial Faculty Young Scientist Award, while the Mata Jarnail Kaur Memorial Young Research Scholar Award was bagged by Ramandeep Kaur Dhillon from MMIMSR, Mullana. Both awards included trophies and cash prizes.
