Army organises ‘Lok Kalakari’ a Dogri cultural event to kindle creativity among children

Jammu, Nov 28:Indian Army, Manawar Yodha Brigade of Crossed Swords Division on Monday organized ‘Lok Kalakari‘, a Dogri cultural event at Govt Higher Secondary School, Khour of Akhnoor in Jammu district to kindle creativity and talent among local children.
“Enthusiastic participation from the eleven (11) schools under Khour Tehsil of Jammu district made the event a great success, PRO Defence Jammu Lt Col Devender Anand said here today.
“The event was aimed to create awareness & instill pride in Dogri culture among the students and local population.”
Col Anand said, “The event held as part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav‘ took the shape of a musical fest which was orchestrated as an electrifying mix of Dogri folk dances by over 100 students from the different schools.”
“Famous Dogri folk artist of J&K, Ms Saras Bharti & team mesmerized the audience with their performance during the event.”
“Senior Indian Army Officials, Chief Education Officer (CEO), Dy CEO & Zonal Education Officer along with a huge gathering of locals witnessed and applauded the efforts of Indian Army in organising such an event in the border village of Khour, Akhnoor, Col Anand added.
Similarly to foster mutual trust between the Indian Army and the Awaam (local populace), Army organised an interaction with Shopkeepers at Surankote in Poonch District. Col Anand said, “The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss issues related to development of the area and its people.”
“The shopkeepers were grateful for this interaction, which will go a long way in fostering mutual trust and faith between the Army and the locals.
