Army offers a day out for inmates of Nari Niketan and School Children in Rajouri



Jammu, Dec 27: On the occasion of ‘Veer Bal Diwas‘, Army on Tuesday gave a different experience to children at Nari Niketan and Govt Girls Middle School, Seri Khawaja & Mandana by organizing a picnic and fun filled activities.
PRO (Defence) Jammu Lt Col Devender Anand said, “with an aim to get the children out and give them some exposure of the outer world, Army organized a picnic for the children which also included a large number of Girls and teachers from Nari Niketan, Rajouri, Govt School of Bhatadhuria and Kalai of District Rajouri.
“Main objective of the event was to make the children aware about the importance of Veer Bal Diwas and to help them develop their personality, Col Anand added.
He said, “One’s childhood leaves the best memories for the rest of our life but the inmates of Nari Niketan at a young age have already faced the loss of the most precious human relations and with this event the Army tried to give them a leisure time with sincere laughter and positive emotions.
“Children admired the breath-taking view of the picnic site and engaged themselves in a number of fun-filled activities, including various games and dance,” Col Anand added.
“Selfie point with patriotic theme became instant attraction, as students queued up to click Selfies.”
Col Anand said, “The teachers and students thanked the Army for the programmes and requested them to organise such activities more often.
“The Army did wonderful arrangements for us and we played a lot of games and in fact all of us enjoyed the day a lot. We hope that they’ll organise more such programmes in near future for children again,” said one of the Nari Niketan inmates.
